Warren County Release Records
“Released” describes the end of one custody episode. It does not always mean the person returned to the community. A Warren County Jail stay may end through bond, recognizance, time served, sentence completion, dismissal, a court order, or transfer. A transfer to the Mississippi Department of Corrections, another county, the U.S. Marshals Service, or immigration custody ends the local bed stay while custody continues. The agency record must name the type and destination before the event can be described with care.
The Warren County Sheriff is the county jailer and keeps the jail docket. Because no verified public online roster or release archive exists, that docket and the related booking or release entry are the strongest local sources. Vicksburg Police records cover short municipal bookings. Court records explain the legal authority. MDOC records apply only when state custody or supervision is involved. Each source answers part of the question, and two records often provide a sound match.

Warren County Inmate Release Types
Release terms have narrow meanings. Bond and recognizance place someone outside confinement while a case may remain active. Time served links the exit to credited confinement. Parole and Earned Release Supervision, or ERS, place an eligible state offender in the community while MDOC authority continues. Probation is a court-ordered community status and may begin without a prison stay. A dismissal concerns the case, while the jail record supplies the actual exit time.

A detainer is another agency's request or legal basis to hold or receive a person. It may block community release after a local charge is resolved. “Discharge” can mean the end of confinement or the end of a whole sentence, depending on the record. Ask the issuing office what its code means. Never convert a transfer, death, or escape into a routine community release.
Note: The release type and destination are as important as the date because they show whether legal custody actually continued.
Warren County Release Record Fields
A useful Warren County release record answers who was involved, which booking episode applies, when custody ended, and why or where it ended. A common name is not enough. Match a date of birth or agency identifier, arrest or booking number, and admission date. The jail docket may connect the person to the warrant or mittimus that authorized detention. A mittimus is a court order directing custody.

Not every item is held in one record or open without redaction. Ask for segregable nonexempt fields when part of a file is restricted. The court order and physical exit entry serve different roles. An order may explain authority, but it does not prove that bond was posted or that all holds cleared. The custodian's timestamp records the actual departure.

Request Warren County Release Records
No sheriff-specific online request form, email address, fee schedule, or fixed response time was verified. Start with the Warren County Sheriff's Office at 1000 Grove Street, Vicksburg, MS 39183-2539, 601-636-1761, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A call can confirm the delivery method. A focused written request preserves the scope and reduces the risk of receiving only a current-status answer.
- Identify the person with full name, aliases, date of birth if known, and a narrow date range.
- Give the arrest or booking number and arresting agency. Ask for the jail-docket page, booking record, and release or transfer entry.
- Request actual custody-exit date and time, authority, release type, bond details, and destination agency if transferred.
- Ask for the booking photo and property receipt if maintained and disclosable. Request segregable nonexempt portions if anything is withheld.
- Ask for a fee estimate first. The VPD fee described below does not establish a sheriff charge.
For a Vicksburg Police booking, use the City Clerk and VPD path. The official VPD records page permits access at 820 Veto Street, phone 601-636-2511, fax 601-634-4505, or police@vicksburg.org during weekday office hours. It says a nominal processing fee of at least $10 may apply. The City Clerk also routes requests at 601-634-4553. Keep that city fee separate from the unverified sheriff fee.

The captured city instructions support a VPD booking request, but they do not create a fee or filing method for the Warren County Sheriff.
Note: Ask whether the person went to the community or another custodian; the word “released” may be used loosely in phone answers.
Warren County Record Access Law
The Mississippi Public Records Act, Miss. Code §25-61-1 et seq., governs access to public records held by local agencies. Section 25-61-5 requires reasonable written procedures. Production or a specific explanation generally cannot be set later than seven working days. If production cannot occur by then, the agency must provide a particular written reason, and the outside limit is generally fourteen working days absent an allowed exception or agreement.
Actual search, review, copy, and mailing costs may be charged under §25-61-7, including work by the lowest-level competent employee. Investigative reports may be exempt, while incident reports remain public under the Act's framework. Juvenile, victim, medical, security, sealed, and expunged material can be restricted. Expungement under Miss. Code §99-19-71 is a court remedy that can change public access. It is not a release type and does not prove an event never occurred.
Online visibility and retention are different. Warren County has no verified web retention window. A reviewed local-government schedule indicated possible disposal eligibility for a jail-docket series three years after release, but the exact current schedule row must be confirmed before relying on that period. Court judgments may last longer. Request the record from its custodian even when it is not on a website.
Warren County Bond Release Proof
Vicksburg's unusual local detail is found in its Booking Officer description. Booking staff compute release dates, schedule pretrial interviews, and release prisoners when bail is posted. The city's warrants explanation adds that a magistrate may set bond after arrest. Thus, a person can be outside the VPD holding area while the prosecution remains open. “Bonded out” does not mean dismissed, acquitted, or finished with court.
Confirm the event with two records. Ask VPD or the sheriff for the actual exit timestamp and bond or recognizance entry. Then obtain the bond order and docket from the proper court. Preserve the exact term. Recognizance is release on a promise to appear, while cash or surety bond involves different conditions. A later failure to appear, bond revocation, warrant, or new arrest is a later event and does not rewrite the historical exit.
Does a bond order prove release? No. It establishes authority and terms. The custodian's release entry shows whether the terms were met and when physical custody ended.
Property After Warren County Release
VPD's official booking description says personal property is listed on a possession log, sealed with a copy, and maintained during booking. No public after-release pickup directions were found. A person who believes property is missing should contact VPD with the arrest or booking number and ask staff to locate the possession log, property receipt, and release entry. The record can show what was accepted at booking and what should have been returned or otherwise handled.
County-jail procedures are separate. Do not assume the VPD process applies at Warren County Jail. Ask the sheriff whether the property record is part of the booking packet, whether an authorized pickup is allowed, and which current location handles the request. The agency identifier matters because a VPD booking can lead to bail, court, or transfer to the county jail.
Warren County Release Court Records
The correct clerk depends on the charge and case stage. Vicksburg Municipal Court handles city misdemeanor and traffic matters. Warren Justice Court handles misdemeanors and felony preliminary proceedings. County Court manages its own docket and municipal criminal appeals. Circuit Court handles felony prosecutions, with the Circuit Clerk maintaining Circuit and County materials. Ask for the actual bond, dismissal, sentence, jail-credit, revocation, or termination order that bears on custody.
Warren Circuit and County Courts entered MEC on November 15, 2021. PAMEC offers account access for eligible electronic records and charges $10 annual public registration. That date is a practical boundary. Older cases and documents not online require clerk help, while sealed or restricted documents may remain unavailable. The court portal supplies legal authority and later disposition, but it must be reconciled with the jail or VPD exit record for the physical release time.
Note: An active case can remain after bond release, and a dismissal order alone may not resolve a separate hold.
Verify Warren County Release Locations
Warren County's jail history creates a real address caution. An official 2015 Vicksburg plan dated the western part of the older jail to 1906 and an addition to 1977. More recent government material concerns a replacement project on Highway 80. Those sources describe different points in time and do not prove that a new public release entrance is operating.
The official sheriff contact remains 1000 Grove Street. Confirm the current operating facility and release door before arranging pickup or sending records by hand. No official release hours, weekend procedure, exit door, or jail-adjacent transit stop was located. Historical plans are useful context, but current logistics should come from the sheriff.
Find Warren County Released Inmates
Start with custody classification, not a broad name search. Warren County, Vicksburg, MDOC, federal prison, and immigration systems do not share one released-inmate database. Prefer the arrest, booking, MDOC, case, BOP register, or A-number tied to the correct agency. When only a name is known, compare date of birth or age, middle name, aliases, arrest date, charge, and source agency before treating two records as the same person.
- For a local booking, use the VPD arrest archive only to find the arrest number and date. Then call the sheriff or VPD and request the actual release or transfer entry.
- Read the correct court order to identify bond, dismissal, sentence, credit, revocation, or another legal basis.
- If transfer to state custody is possible, search MDOC by ID or name. Treat its Tentative Release Date as an estimate, not proof of release.
- Search the MDOC parolee database when community supervision may follow. Use SAVIN/VINELink for notices from a participating agency.
- Use BOP, ICE, PACER, or USMS channels only for the matching federal or immigration path.
- If no confident online match appears, return to the custodian with identifiers and make a written human-search request.
Warren County MDOC Release Lookup
The Mississippi Department of Corrections inmate search applies to state custody, not a county-only bond release. Search with an MDOC number when possible, or enter first and last name. Compare identifiers before opening the detail. Verified current detail pages display entry and location data, sentence facts, county and date of conviction, a photograph, and the exact label “Tentative Release Date.”

Reliable retention of fully discharged people was not verified, nor was a universal “Released” or “Discharged” label. If the current inmate result disappears, search the parolee system. If neither source gives a firm answer, submit a written MDOC request for the discharge certificate, release date, time sheet, jail credit, and supervision status. Telephone requests are not accepted through the formal records process.

This state form can locate an MDOC record, but it cannot confirm a county detainee's bond release or replace the Warren jail docket.
Warren County Recent Release Limits
No official Warren County 24-hour, 48-hour, or 72-hour release list was found in the official-channel review. No verified current roster, released-booking archive, jail app, sheriff-only release social feed, public booking release-date field, or update schedule was found either. The official sheriff site should be checked again if a product launches, but a feed must have a confirmed Mississippi URL and stated fields before it can be trusted.
Vicksburg does preserve weekly arrest-report PDFs. They may show arrest number, name, charge, date and time, officer, and location. They do not show actual exit time, release reason, destination, or continuing custody. Never sort arrests into a made-up release list. Use the report only to identify the event, then ask the sheriff or VPD for the release or transfer record.

Warren County Release Supervision
Parole is conditional release from state confinement. ERS is a community placement in which MDOC says inmate status and jurisdiction continue. Probation is ordered by a court and may begin without prison confinement. None of these terms should be assigned to a person who merely bonded out of Warren County Jail.
Use the MDOC parolee search by first name, last name, MDOC ID, city, or county. Warren is selectable. A result supports a supervision trail, not full sentence discharge. Save the exact wording, event time, source agency, and identifier. Then confirm the notice with MS SAVIN and the originating custodian. A delayed or missing alert is not proof that no event occurred.

Warren County Federal Release Search
Federal and immigration searches are separate from Warren County and MDOC. The BOP locator searches federal prison records by register, DCDC, FBI, or INS number, or by name with identity filters. BOP explains that “RELEASED,” or a past release date with no location, means the person is no longer in BOP custody. It does not rule out supervised release, state or local custody, or immigration custody.
ICE's Online Detainee Locator uses an A-number and country of birth or biographical details. Automated review could not verify a fixed recent-release display period, so no window should be assumed. USMS has no public release locator like BOP. For a federal pretrial case, use PACER for the detention or release order and contact the responsible USMS district or facility. In all cases, obtain Warren County's transfer entry if the person first left the local jail for federal custody.

The best source changes with the question. A current-custody tool shows where someone is held now. A release record documents an earlier exit. Court and supervision records explain what happened around that event. Read the source within its custody scope.

Can a photograph settle identity? It can help, but it may be old and should not stand alone. Match the agency number, date of birth, episode date, and case information. If key identifiers conflict, ask the custodian instead of merging records.
Warren County Release Facilities
Warren County release paths include local custody, short-term city holding, documented historical transfers, and state community supervision. The primary jail comes first. Issaquena and Madison placements are historical leads from a 2015 city plan, not current contract claims. No MDOC prison or verified federal or ICE detention facility was found within Warren County.

- Vicksburg Police Department holding facility: confirm bail, court movement, or transfer through VPD and the proper court.
- Issaquena County Correctional Facility: verify any reported transfer with the receiving facility because the documented city use is historical.

- Warren Probation & Parole Office: use after an MDOC record supports parole, probation, or another state community status.
A transfer must remain labeled as transfer. When a Warren detainee later appears in MDOC, compare the name, date of birth, MDOC number, county of conviction, sentence date, and entry or location data. The local record shows departure from Warren custody. The MDOC record shows receipt into state custody. Neither event should be silently recast as release to the community.
