Warren Parole and Probation
Parole, probation, Earned Release Supervision, and discharge are not interchangeable. Parole is conditional release from state confinement. The sentence and supervision continue outside prison. Probation is a court-ordered community sentence and may begin without an MDOC prison stay. Earned Release Supervision, often shortened to ERS, is also a community placement, but the MDOC handbook says inmate status and state jurisdiction continue. Full discharge means the relevant sentence or supervision term has ended.
A Warren County Jail bond release does not prove parole or probation. Bond means a person left custody under conditions while a criminal case may continue. Confirm the status shown by MDOC or the sentencing court before describing it.
| Status | What it means | Best verification |
|---|---|---|
| Parole | Conditional release from state confinement | MDOC parolee search, local office, Parole Board |
| Probation | Court-ordered community supervision | Sentencing order and MDOC community corrections |
| ERS | Community placement with inmate status retained | MDOC record and supervision office |
| Discharge | Sentence or supervision has ended as documented | MDOC discharge record or court order |
- Absconder

Check Warren Post-Release Supervision
The public routes are split by custody type. The MDOC inmate search addresses state custody, locations, and tentative dates. The MDOC parolee search is the more direct public path for someone on parole in the community. It accepts first name, last name, MDOC ID, city, and county, with Warren available as a filter. An MDOC number is stronger than a common name.
- Start with the MDOC number when available. If not, enter the exact name and narrow by Warren County.
- Compare the returned name and identifiers. Do not combine records when the number, age, or other facts conflict.
- Read the listed status carefully. An inmate result, parolee result, ERS status, and full discharge each answer a different question.
- Call the Warren Probation & Parole Office to confirm that it is the responsible office and ask what status information can be disclosed.
- Obtain the sentencing, revocation, termination, or discharge record when formal proof is needed.
The official Warren County post-release supervision search is shown below. The interface demonstrates the state lookup channel; it does not establish any person's current status without an identifier match.
Use the search result as a lead, then confirm it with the office or the record that created the supervision status.
Warren Supervision Office Records
Warren County has a dedicated MDOC community-corrections office, but no MDOC prison appears on the department's current county facilities map. That distinction matters. The local office deals with community supervision; it is not a jail, and it cannot confirm an ordinary county bond release for a person who never entered MDOC supervision.

Ask whether the office is responsible for the named person and which record confirms the status. Disclosure limits may apply. For sentence time, jail credit, and eligibility dates, the better route is MDOC Records at P.O. Box 24388, Jackson, MS 39225, 601-933-2889. Formal public requests must be written through the MDOC public-record portal; MDOC says telephone requests are not accepted.
Warren Supervision Warrants
An absconder indication means the person may be outside the approved supervision process. It does not prove present confinement. Mississippi SAVIN includes an abscond-supervision notice category, but alerts may repeat or lag because they arise from agency data changes. Confirm an alert with MDOC community corrections and any court or agency that issued a warrant.
Vicksburg also explains that VPD or a Municipal Court judge may issue a criminal arrest warrant. Its warrants information is an explanation, not a verified named-person search. Someone may be outside custody and still have a separate failure-to-appear or warrant issue. Do not treat a general page, an old notice, or a missing search result as current proof.
Conditions are case-specific. They may address reporting, travel, treatment, or compliance with court and agency directions, but the governing order and supervision record control. A suspected violation can lead to a review or revocation process. It does not erase the need to confirm identity and the current legal action.
Note: A supervision alert is a prompt to verify with the responsible agency, not a certified warrant or custody record.
Property After a Warren Release
VPD's booking description says staff record prisoner property on a possession log, seal it with a copy, and maintain it during booking. The city does not publish after-release pickup directions. A person seeking missing property should give VPD the arrest or booking number and ask staff to check the possession log. County-jail property is a separate sheriff process and must be confirmed with the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
This property trail is useful because it identifies the exact booking episode. It is not proof of parole, probation, or discharge. Pair it with the release entry and, where relevant, the court order that authorized the custody change.
Warren Parole Decision Records
The Mississippi State Parole Board makes parole decisions, while MDOC administers confinement and community corrections. The official Board contact is 239 North Lamar Street, Suite 501, Jackson, MS 39202, 601-576-3520, and MSStateParoleBoard@mdoc.state.ms.us. No verified current public offender-hearing calendar or decisions database was located on the reviewed state pages.
A favorable Board action is not the same as a physical exit timestamp. Address approval, paperwork, conditions, release preparation, or a detainer may still affect the transition. The sheriff or MDOC release record identifies the custody event. The Board or MDOC record identifies parole action. Warren County court records may also show a separate order that changes the person's status.
Ending Warren Post-Release Supervision
Supervision ends through the action documented for that sentence or court case. A discharge record, termination order, or other official entry is stronger than disappearance from a public search. Fully discharged people may not remain reliably available in the MDOC public tools. If neither the inmate nor parolee search returns a confident match, request the discharge certificate, release date, supervision start and end, and relevant time sheet from MDOC.
The Mississippi Public Records Act permits agencies to apply lawful exemptions and redact protected material. A focused request should identify the MDOC number, the specific records, and a narrow date range. Ask for segregable nonexempt portions if part of a file cannot be released. A written denial should state its statutory basis.
For a county-only probation case, use the actual sentencing court and community-corrections record. For a Warren County jail exit with no state supervision, use the sheriff's jail-docket or booking/release entry. The full local custody path is explained on the Warren County released inmates search. Each system proves only the event within its own scope.
Warren Supervision Record Requests
A formal supervision check should ask for the record that answers the exact question. For sentence time, request the MDOC time sheet, jail credit, release category, and discharge certificate. For parole, identify the MDOC number and ask for releasable status and supervision dates. For probation imposed by a court, obtain the sentencing order and any later revocation or termination order. Broad requests are less useful because one file can mix public and exempt information.
Mississippi public-record procedures allow redaction of exempt material while nonexempt portions are produced. Ask for those segregable portions. MDOC directs written requests to its online public-record portal and states that telephone requests are not accepted. The records phone and email can clarify time questions, but they do not replace the submission channel.
Identity remains the first control. Match the MDOC number, not just the name. Where the state number is unknown, compare the full name, age or date of birth, city, county, and court case. A photograph may help, but it can be old. If identifiers conflict, preserve the conflict and ask MDOC to resolve it.
Supervision dates also need labels. Start of parole, start of ERS, probation order, termination, and full discharge are different events. An office assignment can change without ending supervision. Record the agency, accessed date, and exact status wording so a later update can be reconciled.
Warren Supervision and Court Records
A court record can show probation, a suspended term, revocation, or termination that does not appear in a simple parolee result. Use the case number to obtain the actual order. Vicksburg Municipal Court, Warren Justice Court, County Court, and Circuit Court handle different stages, so route the request by charge and case history.
The court order supplies legal authority. MDOC community corrections supplies the supervision trail. If the person was first released from Warren County Jail, the sheriff record supplies the physical exit or transfer. Comparing all three prevents a bond release from being mislabeled as parole and prevents an office assignment from being mistaken for full discharge.
When a result is absent, check spelling, aliases, agency number, and date before concluding supervision ended. Restricted or older court records may require clerk help. Obtain the discharge or termination document whenever the end date matters.

The official Warren Probation & Parole Office page provides the local MDOC office source discussed in the verification steps.

The office page confirms the local community-corrections route. It does not turn a county bond release into state supervision.
